A tribute to the music of Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn, performed by an ensemble that brings together icons of the Buenos Aires jazz scene and promising young artists. The repertoire will encompass both classics and hidden gems, revealing the richness and depth of one of the most transcendental alliances in the history of jazz. Tomás Martínez is an Argentine saxophonist, composer, and teacher who lives between Buenos Aires and New York. He has played in jazz clubs and festivals in Argentina, Europe, and the U.S. His album, In Good Company, recorded with Michael Weiss, David Wong, and Kenny Washington, is being released by the SteepleChase label. He has also recorded with Paul Sikivie and Matt Dwonszyk and is noted for his bebop style and distinctive voice.
